Born and brought up in Aligarh and completed graduation and post graduation degree from St. College, Agra in 2001. He worked at IIT Kanpur from 2004 to 2010, obtaining his Ph.D. in Chemistry from G.B.T. University, Lucknow in 2010. After a brief stint as a research scientist at Jubilant Organosys, he joined GLA University, Mathura as an Assistant Professor in February 2011 and was promoted to Associate Professor in June 2019. In April 2025 he became Professor. His research focuses on organic synthesis, heterogeneous catalysis, and nanocatalysis
